The module is designed to integrate the subject matter from different areas of the curriculum through group and individual tasks that encourage the use of research skills, the ability to work in teams and personal development generally. The programme involves students from a range of backgrounds that will allow for a multi-disciplinary approach to identifying and researching a business idea. The module has strong involvement from the local business community.
The delivery will be in the form of workshops given by a mix of visiting practitioners and university staff to cover the normal requirements expected by a banking institution for the launch of a new business.
Students will work individually towards the production of a literature review (around a chosen functional business area) based around their initial business idea for a new entrepreneurial activity (preferably with a sustainability focus).
There will be workshop delivery which will lead into the literature review.
